I’m a stay-at-home to three wonderful daughters, ages 8, 6, and 2. We live in Minnesota, USA, where we’ve settled after years of travel with the United States Air Force. I’ve been using the Internet since the early 1990s and haven’t found a better use of it than Wikipedia and Project Gutenberg’s Distributed Proofreaders (DP)–my two favorite places in Cyberspace!

The name Estreya has been mine from the beginning of my time online (1993 on America Online [AOL]). It comes from one of my favorite books: “Grace and Grit: Spirituality and Healing in the Life and Death of Treya Killam Wilber” by Ken Wilber. I like the name because I honor Treya’s courageous battle against breast cancer every time I sign online. It is also a nice fit for me as I speak Spanish and “estrella” is star in Spanish. Always good to reach for the stars in life or in cyberspace. If you’ve been online forever too, you might have seen me in Omni Magazine’s forum on AOL where I hosted chats on the paranormal, the mind-body-spirit connection, and science fiction for several years in the mid-1990s.

I have a Master’s Degree in Information Systems Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiology with minors in Spanish and Biology from the University of Minnesota. My hobbies include knitting, crochet, scanning and formatting books for DP, crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, my pets and nature.

The best gift I received for my 40th birthday was the “Integral Life Practice” package. I’ve read most of Ken Wilber’s books and the ILP just seems like a natural way to put it all into practice. I’m so excited!
